I am so enamored of The Nightjar’s (Tarra Lyons) encaustic and oil paintings.  They are truly wonderful.  Even better, her reproduction prints are very affordable.

Are they not gorgeous?  The Nightjar also has a new blog featuring some pretty amazing finds of her own.

While perusing Indie Spotting this week, Pootsies’ dolls caught my eye.  Creator, Jillian, contacted me to say thanks when I “hearted” her shop.  Turns out she is not only talented but very sweet.  In addition to darling soft dolls, she offers art prints, custom silhouettes and other paper goods.

I found Ginny’s shop because she put my apple in that beautiful treasury.  It just so happens that not only is she nice and a member of  Etsy Project Embrace, she is also very talented!

I’m a little envious because she has a skill I lack… wet felting.  For some reason, when those fibers get wet, they become very rebellious but Ginny has managed to keep them under control.  She mixes her wet felted shapes with needle felting and other techniques to create these one-of-a-kind wearable works of art.

I just love altered art and truly unique jewelry. Lynn Davis has combined the two to create what she refers to as “invented vintage”. Her one-of-a-kind creations have the appearance of a treasure you would find in Grandma’s attic but are composed mainly of new materials. (You can always pretend it was Grandma’s!) Vintage images, rich patinas, natural elements and lots of love coalesce into pieces that are ready to write their own history.

Aren’t they just gorgeous? To see more of Lynn’s fabulous creations, visit her lovely SHOP and her blog.

As you may already know, I love fantasy art. Among the many fantasy artists on Etsy, a few really stand out. Philippe Fernandez is one of them. He calls it fairytale art and says of his shop, “Here you will find unique Prints and Originals of Spooky Dark Paths, Fairytale like Lands, wicked witches, creepy cottages, mystical fairy like trolls, and lots of magical Trees. It’s a long way from home!” His world is whimsical yet unsettling. I love it!

Continuing this months’ theme of 2D artists…

Let me introduce Angus of eterNature from Sydney, Australia.  His shop houses the work of his grandparents, Renji Wang and Aizhen Zhou, who are fabulous oil painters. Their style and subject matter are classic, their skills are second to none. eterNature is filled with some of the most beautiful paintings, prints and postcards I’ve ever seen. Honestly, at first glance, I thought some of them were photographs.

Is this not stunning? I don’t own any of their work yet, but this image will be my first purchase… Unless it’s the “Iron Pears” below. They’re all so wonderful!

All this month I will be featuring 2D art (my first love *sigh*).

This weeks’ fabulous creator is Victoria Usova of Chest of Fairy Tales.  Victoria is a true global citizen: born in the Ukraine, studied art in three countries including Italy and currently residing in New York.  Her work is colorful and whimsical yet surprisingly sophisticated.  She offers original watercolors, collage, prints, notecards and ACEOs (Art Cards Editions & Originals).

I own this one.  ”A Princess That Loved Animals” is part of my collection of girls with foxes prints.  (Yes, a really specific collection!)  It’s even more lovely in person.

Isn’t her work charming?  Definitely appropriate for a child’s room but equally at home in a relaxed grown-up environment.

To see LOTS more of her beautiful paintings and prints, visit Chest of Fairy Tales.
